Real Estate Auctions Show More Popularity

The Sun Sentinel has another article up describing the increased popularity of residential real estate auctions amid claims of an every sofenting nation market.

"Public sales of residential real estate auctions statewide have increased tenfold just in the past eight months", said  The Florida Auctioneers Association President, Neal Van De Ree.

Real estate agents still can get commissions from auctions, but some don't like the concept.

Scott Agran, president of Boca Raton-based Lang Realty, called it a "fad," saying that qualified agents can market the homes just as well as auctioneers. "If the sellers have priced their homes correctly, they're going to get the same type of activity and interest," Agran said. "Everybody's always trying to create a better mouse trap.

Mousetraps and Fads? Perhaps Mr. Argan has that backwards? - Auctions and auctioneers have been around longer than Boca Raton real estate agents. Which is really the fad?
